Former Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando passed away

Former Foreign Minister and United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian Tyronne Fernando passed away today at a private hospital following a brief illness. He was 67 at the time of his death.

Tyronne Fernando was an advisor to the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and recently served as the governor of North-East Province Council (NEPC) from December 2004 till January 2006. He was the Foreign Minister under the previous UNP government.
