JVP vehemently condemn the position taken by the British government


British government,whose ancestors have devoured the resources belonged to all Sri Lankan communities during the colonial rule, has no righteousness to respond ignoring that national crisis is the worst consequences of that pillage, People's Liberation Front(JVP) insists.

However Britain or any country interfere with the internal problems of SriLanka violate the independence and sovereignty of the nation, which would not be tolerated by the citizens of Sri Lanka. Therefore, the JVP vehemently condemn the position taken by the British government and plead the peace loving British people to protest against the ctions of their government against Sri Lankan people.

Muralitharan wants more


Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan intends to continue playing at the highest level for at least two more years.

The 35-year-old, who last month picked up a runners-up medal in the World Cup final, has been an international cricketer for almost 15 years but has no intention of retiring yet.

"It has been a very long time and I will have to call it a day some time,” he said.

“But I am hoping to play for at least another two years and see how good it is and how my fitness is.

Norwegian Ambassador to meet Tigers tomorrow in northern Sri Lanka

Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Hans Brattskar will leave for Tiger-held Kilinochchi tomorrow.

He will meet the head of the political division of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), S.P. Thamilselvan, and other leaders and discuss hopes of revitalizing the collapsed peace process in Sri Lanka.

The Norwegian Ambassador’s visit, scheduled for two weeks ago, was postponed on security grounds at the Sri Lankan government’s request. This time the government has granted permission for the Ambassador’s visit.
