Thirty LTTE bunkers destroyed,12 terrorists killed

Thirty LTTE bunkers were completely destroyed this morning (06). When Army troops launched an attack between 5.50 a.m. and 6.30 a.m.

Four LTTE bunkers in NAGARKOVIL ten in the North of A - 9 route, and 16 in KILALI were destroyed.

Troops used T 55 tanks in the NAGARKOVIL attack. Twelve terrorists were killed and a large number were injured in the encounter. Five soldiers were injured.

During Search operations, troops recovered a MPMG weapon, T 56 Weapon, 5 Magazines and some military equipments.

Major landmark in fight against terrorism achieved; Muhamale & Nagarkovil Tiger Defences Fall

Valiant troops now taking the upper hand in their quest for peace by crushing LTTE terrorism during the wee hours on Wednesday (30) achieved another impressive and landmark victory when hundreds of troops of 55 and 53 Divisions in NAGARKOVIL and MUHAMALE stormed the first defence lines of the LTTE in both places and physically ejected some 35 bunkers killing or injuring at least 25 – 30 Tiger terrorists.
