Out going Police Chief to become Governor of Sri Lanka’s Northern Province

Informed sources say that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had appointed outgoing Inspector General of Police Victor Perera as the Governor of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

He is to take over duties at his new position from July 03, the sources added.

Currently the governor of the Eastern Province, Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickrema has been performing as the acting government of the Northern Province.
